Healthy Lifestyle
Education around having a healthy lifestyle is key to any child’s growing development. It is important at Busy Bees we promote this by actively giving our children many opportunities to learn and ask questions they may have. This is also supported by being part of our learning curriculum and the impact we aim it will have, is to give our children a better healthier outcome as they grow. We want to also improve the children’s knowledge and life-long skills around oral hygiene and the impacts of having a healthy lifestyle can have. We believe this will decrease tooth decay, lower obesity and help to improve a child’s self-esteem.

Oral Hygiene

Our setting supports oral hygiene by having visits from the local dentist and this gives the children a chance to ask questions and learn about the importance, of what we eat, may have an effect on their teeth long term and what they can do to minimise tooth decay. The children have access to role play equipment and books to enhance their knowledge and understanding around oral hygiene.

Tennis 4 Tots

Exercise is really important at Busy Bees and we support this by having our very own weekly PE sessions, with the lovely Tennis 4 Tots. These fun sessions introduce preschool aged children to basic tennis skills using imaginative scenarios, games and activities. These sessions give our children a great opportunity to learn new skills they may have never have tried before. Also supporting their listening and attention and helping encourage independence in self-care, by changing into their own PE outfits and being school ready for this.

Exercise
We enjoy going for walks out into the community, using the local play parks and the local care home grounds to run around in. The children have free flow access to the garden all day and can enjoy all the outdoor experiences we have to offer in the garden.
